The Last Great Day A Day of Salvation And Judgment

14/October/2025
The Last Great Day A Day of Salvation And Judgment

Today, we’ll be reflecting on the Last Great Day, a significant biblical festival that represents the final stage of God’s plan of salvation. This feast is a picture of God’s merciful nature, offering salvation to all who have ever lived without knowing Christ or understanding God’s way of life.
As Jesus stood on the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, He cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:37-38). This scripture points to the Holy Spirit, which would be given to those who believe in Jesus Christ.

The Last Great Day represents a time when all people who have ever died without knowing Christ will be resurrected and given an opportunity to receive eternal life. As the Bible says, “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16).

This feast also symbolizes the final judgment, where all people will be judged according to their works. As Jesus said, “Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice and come forth: those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.” (John 5:28-29).

The Last Great Day teaches us about God’s merciful plan of salvation, which offers everyone a chance to receive eternal life. As the apostle Paul wrote, “God desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:4).

Let us reflect on the significance of this feast and the importance of living a life that is pleasing to God. May we be mindful of God’s merciful nature and strive to follow His commandments, that we may be prepared for the final judgment.
